Many women dream of having a flat belly especially after giving birth, and most of them will try to do anything just to achieve it. However, the common questions they have are: What is the healthy way of losing belly fat? What would be the best strategy and how to make it fun?

People need to first understand what causes belly fat and then they can decide which is the best way to get rid of it. Having that extra weight in the mid section is serious business, as is it usually associated with higher risk of health problems such as cardiovascular diseases, and many more. However, since belly fat is also known as Visceral Fat, it is more metabolically active compared to subcutaneous fats that are under the skin. It is easier to lose, especially if you have a lot of it. Some doctors even claim that belly fat is the first kind of fat that you will usually tend to lose when you lose weight.

So how can you lose that fat in the mid section? The common answer that people will give is… Exercise, exercise, exercise! They might even refer to the term “Spot Reduction”, which is focusing to a particular part of the body to lose weight. Sad to say, but spot reduction is just a myth. People cannot selectively choose a part of the body and concentrate on that part to lose fat. When you exercise, you lose fat as a whole. Exercise is correct, but adding other factors will make it great. This is where the fun starts, on how to do the exercise and what are the other things that can be done that will make it more effective.

Some of the steps that can be done to add fun to that journey to a flatter belly are:

#1 Eating Slowly
Take smaller bites and take time in chewing. This will avoid overeating and will give time for the brain to react to the body’s activity.

#2 Eat more meals more often
Reduce the size of the meals you eat, and eat 5-6 of these small meals a day. This will help in minimizing the feeling of hunger, and maintain a high metabolism while burning up the food.

#3 Drink, drink, and then drink some more
Hydration is important as it can aid the fat burning process, and will help the liver function properly. Using filtered water (has fewer minerals in metal content) will attract more of the heavy toxins from fats and flush it out of the body.

#4 Sleep, and then get more sleep
Having a good night sleep, that is, sleeping 7-8 hours per night, will boost your metabolism. This will also ensure that the body will have enough energy and strength to cope for the energy requirements of the workout. This is also the time where the body heals itself.

#5 The long walk
Taking a walk in the park does wonders. This will increase the body’s metabolism and is also a great workout. Plus, you will see a lot of new faces, and go to new places.

#6 Check what you are eating
Eating the right food will certainly speed up the process of losing fat. The most common fat burning foods include: whole grains, brown rice, fruits, vegetables, and foods rich in fiber. Cut out the cheese since it acts like a gummy substance and clogs up the intestines.

With these simple steps, the dream of having that flat stomach will be closer and more attainable. Regardless of the exercises being done, as long as the correct steps are being followed, and the motivation is there, then there will be nothing that will hinder to achieving that goal.
