Deciding to have a child, or sometimes it’s a surprise, is a huge step to anyone really. After all, you’ll have to be pregnant for the next nine months, and then take care of a child for life, really. newborn babyBut all that doesn’t matter when you’re growing your family and building the future you’ve always dreamed of. So, that is why it’s so important to talk and consult with professionals about your pregnancy. But there are also some pretty interesting things that you need to know too. Some of them are pretty cool facts, others are already well known, but still good to remember. That’s why we decided to go over four things that you need to know about pregnancy, and some of them will even make the whole journey a bit easier on you. So, let’s get started, shall we!

1. Expect your heart to grow bigger during your pregnancy.

This is a pretty interesting,  and even somewhat spooky fact about pregnancy. But it’s true that the heart grows bigger. And there’s a very good reason for that. See, when you are pregnant, your body increases the amount of blood it has by almost forty percent! That’s nearly half as much as you have normally. And because our hearts are just like any other muscle in our bodies. Once they start to work hard, they grow. Just like lifting heavyweights in the gym.

2. You might have to skip some of the beauty procedures you enjoy so much.

While all extreme beauty procedures are off the table when you’re pregnant, some people still think most of the non-surgical ones as safe for pregnant women. Well, it turns out that you might want to skip the laser hair removal. While there are no long-term studies to proof laser hair removal can be bad for pregnancy, it’s genuinely considered as something that should be avoided. You can see more about the topic on this website, as they’re experts in the field. But other than that, you might also want to put a pause on any massages and going to the sauna for the next 10 months or so. Just to be double-sure.

3. Boost up your organism by taking the right vitamins to keep your body healthy.

Pregnancy can be stressful to the human body. That is especially true if you are pregnant for the first time in your life. That’s why it’s important to have a well thought out multivitamin plan that you can incorporate in your diet. Just keep in mind that it’s always better to consult with a doctor before you decide to make any changes.

4. If you are still in the planning phase, try to stop smoking before you get pregnant.

Smoking, and even alcohol, should be stopped still while you’re in the planning phases of your pregnancy. Planning phase? Yup, you should ease them out of your system while you’re still trying to conceive. As it’s especially hard with smoking, it only makes sense to quit from early on.
