How to Make the Most of Your Free Time with Your KidsSpending quality time with children is very important for both their development and their happiness. With busy lifestyles we all lead, finding time to play with your children can be a challenge. Nevertheless, they must know that they are loved and that their parents care about them. Here are some ideas that will help you spend the time with your children creatively. Play TogetherJoin your children in whatever activity they’re engaging in. If they want to colour, do it together. If they’re putting together a puzzle, help them find the right pieces or find some of the pieces for them. This will help them learn what’s the best way to find what they’re looking for. Dressing up a Barbie doll, playing in the sand or on the floor with trucks and cars,  the activity is up to your child. Just make sure you’re doing it together so you can bond and create nice memories. Let Them Help YouChildren love contributing to someone else’s work. Especially if you’re trying to fix a pipe, dust or bake cookies. They will gladly pass you the screwdriver, help you with dusting or make cookie dough with you. So, next time you need to do some of these things, make sure you engage them and make sure they know they were helpful. This can greatly influence their development and maybe even help them realize what their hobbies are going to be in the future. In addition, they might discover they are exceptionally talented in certain fields. Have A Special Night Every WeekWhether you choose to prepare delicious food together, tell stories, have a movie marathon night or a game night, choose one evening a week that you will dedicate to your children. Fridays and Saturdays are the best option because you can stay up late and not worry about getting up early the next morning. Make sure to do something new every week. One week, you can prepare Italian dinner together; next week, have a Jeopardy night; and the week after, pick a couple of favourite movies to watch and have a movie marathon. Spend Time In NatureA family that lives in a big house must take care of their backyard and outdoor landscaping. So, if you’re one of those parents who enjoys taking care of the plants and working in the garden, include your kids in the gardening job as well. When you finish protecting your plants with a garden sprayer, you can introduce them to he wonders of the natural world. Children are very curious, so let them ask anything they want to know. If you don’t know the names all the plants, birds or flowers, take an encyclopaedia and go through it together. Time you spend together like this is invaluable, and you may even learn some important and interesting things. Walk TogetherWhile driving your child to a playdate is much faster, it might not be the best option. Instead of using a car, walk together. It’s much healthier and it will help you and your child bond. You’ll certainly have many topics to talk about, considering children find almost everything they encounter interesting. This will give your kids an opportunity to get to know the world around them. Replace the tablet and  other gadgets they would use during a drive with beautiful city surroundings.Spending quality time with your children is essential to their development. It’s important for them to see who their parents are and how they live their life. Also, you will have an opportunity to get to know yourself as a parent a little more. Considering children spend enormous amount of time with babysitters, at day care, in school, at camp, asleep, or at friends’ homes, and doing many other activities that do not include you, it’s vital that you spend all the free time you have with them. It will help them understand that they are loved, that you care about them and that enjoy spending time with them. No matter how hectic your life is, children and family should always come first.
