Parents understand that children are going to get bumps and bruises. Playing is serious business and from time to time, injuries may occur. Many childhood accidents can be treated at home. Fevers
One of the most common problems that a child might experience is cold and flu illnesses. As long as your child is not running a dangerously high fever and is drinking fluids, you can probably treat them at home. Twisted Ankle

Burns
Burns are categorized by degree. Common burns that happen at home are usually mild and can be treated with a cold compress, aloe or other topical ointment and loose wrapping. If the burn is more serious, there is a chance of infection. Playing with fireworks, touching a grill or spilling scalding liquids on the skin can lead to serious burns that should be treated by a doctor immediately.
Serious Situations
A broken bone is an emergency situation that will need to be handled by a doctor. You can do your part by immobilizing the area if possible and controlling any bleeding if it is an open fracture. If you are not sure what to do or think there may be a neck injury, call 911. Parents know their children and can usually tell if an injury is serious or not. For some serious injuries, it is best to go directly to the ER. Others can be treated at home according to the symptoms and a parent’s best judgement.
