Are you looking for special baby shower decorations for preemies or twins?

Holy Octuplets!

A decade and a half ago, I gave birth to two girls (yesterday was my twins’ Macy & Mallory’s 15th birthday).  Can you imagine giving birth to two girls PLUS six boys?! Yesterday, a woman California gave birth via C-Section to octuplets nine weeks premature.

The medical team had prepared to deliver seven babies, but doctors were surprised when an eighth came out! The babies weighed in at between 1lb 8 ounces (820 g) and 3 lb 4 oz (1.47 kg) and are all reportedly doing well.

The United States’ first live-born set of octuplets was delivered in Texas in 1998, but the parents hail from Nigeria.  One of the babies died a week later, leaving seven that are currently all happy and healthy 10-year olds.  They were guests on the Today Show this morning with their younger sister, thus still giving the appearance of eight.  They have their own website at FirstOctuplets.com. I can’t even imagine having that many babies at once…

Fostering a sharing and caring environment at home is nothing short of difficult. Especially for twins, who are often times expected to be each other’s best friends, expectations can be overwhelming. Bunk beds for your twins can grant them individual spaces while still learning valuable lessons about compromise and cooperation. The bunk bed helps save space in the kids’ room while your twins work together toward a common goal, whether it be making the bed or deciding who gets to sleep on the top bunk. Comfortable, secure, stylish, and a space saver, bunk beds can also be a vital learning tool for teaching your kids an important lesson in cohabitation.
