Getting Children Through Your Divorce

Posted by Guest on July 26, 2011

If you’ve got children and you’re going through a divorce then your first priority is going to be to protect them. You won’t have taken the decision to divorce lightly and in most cases the only reason the couple would consider staying together would have been for the sake of the kids but this isn’t healthy. In the long run it’s far better for children to have to go through the short term pain of watching their parents’ divorce rather than growing up watching a loveless marriage and knowing their parents are only together because of them.

Fostering a sharing and caring environment at home is nothing short of difficult. Especially for twins, who are often times expected to be each other’s best friends, expectations can be overwhelming. Bunk beds for your twins can grant them individual spaces while still learning valuable lessons about compromise and cooperation. The bunk bed helps save space in the kids’ room while your twins work together toward a common goal, whether it be making the bed or deciding who gets to sleep on the top bunk. Comfortable, secure, stylish, and a space saver, bunk beds can also be a vital learning tool for teaching your kids an important lesson in cohabitation.

Jon & Kate Gosselin Discuss Divorce

TV ratings were astronomically high for the Season 5 premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8  where Jon and Kate Gosselin discussed their much talked about marriage and relationship problems.

After Kate tearfully said ”Parents of multiples have triple the divorce rate, and [we were] thinking we were gonna beat that. But I don’t know if I can say that anymore,” my youngest daughter looked at me and said “that must be why you and dad divorced.”

I do remember when my twins were preemies, the social worker told us we should seek counseling as parents of preemies have double the divorce rate. Add on the “parents of multiples” card, the “we married too young” card, and then there was the “my husband is cheating on me” card and we were doomed.  In this growing society and numerous card factors, it seems everyone is doomed!

Jon & Kate Gosselin’s personal website is SixGosselins.com, but is currently overloaded with traffic that they exceeded their bandwidth, and I’m thinking they have other things to think about than upgrade their hosting package.

We appreciate this month's PreemieTwins.com sponsor of Gainsville AC service who helps us provide free resources for parents of premature infants and multiples.
