When I first started the “Preemie Twins” website back in 1998 on Tripod.com, I had a guestbook where others could share their preemie and/or multiples stories. I have saved those hundreds of entries, but have been a bit lazy in adding them since I upgraded the site to a Wordpress blog.

But with some encouragement of my friend, Andrew Wee, I have decided to get motivated and add the stories, as it really is encouraging and comforting to read about other people that have endured similar experiences. Be patient as it may take me a bit of time to transfer them all. And knowing me, I’ll want to re-read them all again. ![]()

I encourage new visitors to submit their story as well for inclusion. This is will save me time using this new site, so your story should appear rather quickly on the site. I look forward to reading your stories! Here’s Macy & Mallory’s Story (my million dollar miracle babies).

Posted January 23rd, 2008 by kim in Stories, Recommendations, Twin NewsI’ve been enthralled by the Jon & Kate plus 8 show on TLC, the family with 7-year old twins, and 3-year old sextuplets. They even have their own website at SixGosselins.com. The last episode I watched was when plastic surgeon, Dr. Lawrence Glassman performed a complimentary tummy-tuck on Kate after the doctor’s wife saw her disfigured belly and felt sorry for her. Will any plastic surgeons feel sorry for me if I expose my stomach? I need a tummy tuck after having my four children (including twins), but need to save a few more dollars first.

Anyway, back to the show… Nannies4Hire.com will be featured in “Kate Hires a Nanny” airing February 10 and 11, so I plan to watch that episode. Even though my kids are all in school, I’m still considering hiring a nanny to help with the kids after school and on weekends. And if they can cook and clean, all the better!

Are your twins Fraternal or Identical?
Posted September 10th, 2007 by kim in Macy & Mallory, Twin NewsIn the womb, my twins had two sacks, but only one placenta, so the doctors said they could either be identical or fraternal. And when they were born, they looked pretty much identical except Macy had bigger feet! But as they grow, we know they are nowhere near identical! But if you are unsure of whether your twins are fraternal or identical, Genetree offers a Twin Zygosity DNA test. You simply order a test kit, take a cheek cell swab of each twin, send in sample and they notify you quickly with the results. Visit Genetree.com for more info.
Clairvoyant Twins

I was watching the Dr. Keith Ablow Show today about twin psychics, Terry and Linda Jamison.
The identical Psychic Twins predicted the simultaneous terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center Towers and on Washington, D.C. by Bin Laden. The Psychic Twins made this prediction to 20 million listeners on the Art Bell Radio Show in November 1999. While they primarily focus on psychic counseling for individuals and businesses, a sideline that they have become known for is world predictions (medical breakthroughs, national and natural disasters, the U.S. economy, stock market, etc.) It was interesting to watch them, as they are 100% identical and even speak the same words at the same time.
75% of Conjoined Twins are Female
Posted September 10th, 2006 by kim in Macy & Mallory, Twin NewsSeems the media has been covering a lot stories on conjoined twins (once dubbed Siamese twins) lately. My twins’ softball coach asked my twins if they were once conjoined at the stomach, as they have matching surgerical scars on her abdomens. Nope, instead they were both victims of Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) and had to have parts of their instestines removed that had been infected and died. At that time (12 years ago), the fatality rate was for NEC was about 80%. So every time I’m at my wits ends with Macy’s OCD fits, I have to remind myself that she is lucky to be alive. When the twins were first born, they looked identical. I could only tell them apart by their feet (Macy’s feet were bigger than Mallory’s). The doctor had said they could either be identical or fraternal as they had one umbilical cord and two sacks. But looking at them today, they rarely even look related somedays. Definitely not identical!
